Advancing Team Dentistry in Northwest Georgia since 1999
Accelerated Dental Studies is beginning its eleventh year in the Seattle Study Club network, and many of our members since 1999 have benefited in this forum for sharing cases and case studies. Members of the Seattle Study Club have unparalleled opportunities for continuing education! We are networked with all of the other clubs across the United States. This, in itself, is very valuable. Our members participate in eight monthly meetings throughout the academic year (September – May) in which we either bring speakers from outside to teach us, or more importantly, combine our knowledge in groups for treatment planning and problem solving. This is not a social network, but it does have a minimal social component to it.
The dentistry community of Northwest Georgia shares many of the same patients, and it is nice to have one forum in which we can get together and discuss treatment of cases. Typically, our members receive 22 to 24 continuing education credits in any academic year. However, the existence of the study club is not solely for the purpose of continuing education credit, as we realize that many dentists at this level of continuing education do not need the credits.
Accelerated Dental Studies reaches a much deeper need and achieves a broader scope than simply receiving CE credits: developing a dental “community” among our colleagues and extending the concept of “team dentistry.”
Hopefully you will be able to witness this as you continue your membership in the Study Club. If you have any questions for our coordinator, please send an email to jackiedipc<at>optilink.us or feel free to call Dr. Parham’s office at (706) 278-5344 and speak with Jackie or Dr. Parham.
